RE: Assistance needed to build houses for the medium to low income households
In the current economic climate with the escalating housing prices, limited access to land and housing finance, land regulations which govern sub-division of land, highly regressive land taxation, and low supply elasticity of subsidised housing has made it difficult for poor as well as middle class households to enter the formal housing market.
POVICOM a registered non-profit Social Housing Institution with the primary objective in renting high quality low cost accommodation for the medium to low income households is committed to respond to the current housing challenges. The company has purchased (4048sqm of land) in the Mitchell’s Plain suburb close to amenities to develop into 104 units ranging from 30 to 47sqm each. According to the government’s criterion, the proposed tenant needs to earn between R1 500 and R15 000 pm to qualify to rent an apartment and not have owned property before.
Our plan includes a dedicated onsite caretaker and 24 hour security services, a recycling area and play park for kids. We believe in not only delivering accommodation but a quality home.
We need your assistance in realising the vision of creating a safe and quality space for families to grow. Attached; is our business plan for your review and please be assured that this Developmental Project for Social Housing is spearheaded by the CEO, Riyard Abrahams, also owner of Prospur Real Estate Agency with over 25 years’ experience in the construction, buying, selling and letting business.
